The importance of family agriculture in the semi-arid region is unquestionable by civil society organizations and for some governments, therefore, it was held on Tuesday morning, May 23, at the headquarters of the Elo Amigo Institute (IEA), meeting with the Secretariat of the Agriculture and Livestock of Iguatu (SEAP). The moment had the participation of technicians of both intuitions to strengthen and broaden the dialogue and actions of the two institutions.
The IEA executive coordinator, Marcos Jacinto, welcomed and presented the activities of the institution, highlighted the coexistence with the semi-arid region, youth, rural technical assistance among others. Jacinto emphasized that it is important for the population of Iguatu to approach with the secretary of agriculture. "I believe that Amigo Elo working together with the agriculture department will generate positive results for the population of Iguatu that will benefit from our activities, as has happened in other municipalities that we have made a similar partnership," said the coordinator.
SEAP Secretary Hildernando Barreto responded positively to the partnership being formalized and highlighted the municipality's commitment to support the rural worker, hopes to strengthen Family Agriculture and consequently facilitate the farmers to obtain a better quality of life and expansion of Its production with the knowledge that the partnership will make available.
The two entities agreed to develop actions that should begin later this month and consists of mapping families, chains and productive groups, developing projects and planning for a district fair.
The president of the IEA, Marcos da Silva, was present and highlighted the satisfaction with the perspective of the partnership that is born with the aligned vision that aims at valuing life.
